Pay or Appeal a Citation
Penalties for parking violations
Effective January 1, 2009, Transportation & Parking Services has increased citation penalties for vehicles parked illegally on University property. Fees for standard permit violations are raised from $40 to $45. Fees for safety and ADA violations are increased to be consistent with fees imposed by the City of Santa Barbara.

Paying a citation
There are three ways to pay a citation: in person, online, or by mail.
  • In-person payments can be made at the Parking Services office located in building 381 across from Harder Stadium at the north end of 30 Parking. Payment by cash, credit card, check or electronic check is accepted.
  • Online payments can be made at www.scapay.com. Payment by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or electronic check is accepted.
  • Mailed checks or money orders must be made payable to “UC Regents” and sent to the following address:

    UCSB Parking Services
    Citation Division
    Santa Barbara, CA 93106-7001

Please do not send cash. To ensure proper posting, write your citation number(s) on the face of the check or money order.
Payments received after their due date may incur additional late fees.

Appealing a citation
Citations can be appealed online by going to www.scapay.com. If you do not have Internet access, please call our Adjudication Office at (805) 893-3680 for an alternate means of appeal.

Unpaid citations
The cost of an unpaid citation is doubled, and the citation is referred to the Department of Motor Vehicles for collection. Citations issued to out-of-state vehicles or rental vehicles may be referred to outside agencies for collection. Vehicles with multiple outstanding citations may be immobilized or impounded at the vehicle owner's expense. The vehicle will not be released until all outstanding citations are paid in full.
