Permits
Departments have a number of options to arrange for permits for their visitors or distinguished guests. Please review the following options to find what will work best for your specific parking needs.

Online Guest Permit System
The most common service used by departments on campus is our online guest permit system. Departments place their order online and a permit is available for guest pickup at the Information Kiosk located at the North entrance to the Mesa 18 Parking Structure. These permits are valid in any lots or spaces labeled for staff, faculty, visitors or students. The cost of the permit is paid for via departmental recharge.

Reserved Spaces for Guests
Our online guest permit system can also be utilized for reserving spaces, in addition to ordering permits. Reserved spaces must be ordered no later than 3:00PM the previous business day. Guests with reserved spaces are still required to pick up a permit at the Information Kiosk prior to parking in their reserved space.

Prepaid Parking Permits
This service is provided for those departments that would like to purchase permits in advance to distribute to their guests. These permits are valid for parking in visitor, student, staff or faculty lots/spaces. Prepaid permits are not to be used by UCSB students, staff or faculty and must be displayed in accordance with the instructions on the permit.

Obtaining Permits or Spaces for Guests
In order to utilize our online system, departments must register in advance. Accounts will be approved in approximately one business day. Once the account has been approved the department representatives will be able to login to place, review or edit orders. To order prepaid permits, please register here. Once the order has been processed and is available for pickup, you will be notified via e-mail.

Cost
Online guest permits can be purchased at a rate of $8.00 per day. Reserved spaces are an additional $20.00 per day. The total cost of a reserved space and a permit is $28.00. Prepaid parking permits are $8.00 for weekdays, and $3.00 for nights and weekends.
