Construction on Campus
CONSTRUCTION ON CAMPUS
Parking lot maintenance: 2, 5, & 41 Parking, Devereux, EH&S, Kerr Hall loading area, Santa Cruz short-term parking.

Road & lot improvements: UCen Road repair; 9 Parking expansion.

Faculty Club renovation/Guest House addition. The site impacts 23 Parking & Ocean Road.

San Joaquin Residence Hall construction. Residence hall parking is relocated to 38 Parking.

BioEngineering building construction. Bike and pedestrian paths are relocated around the fenced-in area. Davidson Library, Webb Hall and Noble Hall are nearby. Project to be completed March 2017.

Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) Visiting Scholar Residence. Construction has begun at the site adjacent to El Colegio & Los Carneros roads. Project to be completed September 2016.

Hwy. 101 Improvements
HIGHWAY 101 IMPROVEMENTS
Carpool Lane Improvement, from Mobil Pier Undercrossing to Casitas Pass Road. Completion expected later this year. Project info here.

South Coast 101 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes, from Carpinteria to Santa Barbara. Construction is forecast to begin in 2018. Project info here.
MTD Service Changes
MTD SERVICE CHANGES
Here comes the bus. Extended hours of operation for Lines 12x and 24x. A new Goleta–IV–UCSB route (Line 38) is planned for fall 2016.

Line 15x has been re-routed to travel only along El Colegio Road, rather than along the narrow side streets of Isla Vista. Line 15x provides service between SBCC and UCSB/Isla Vista. Evening service on this route has been enhanced.

Three new, long-awaited buses have been put into service on Lines 12x, 15x and 24x. These 60-foot articulated buses have a 40% larger passenger capacity.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
Bureau of Automotive Repair, Data Acquisition Device (BAR-DAD) smog-testing equipment has been put into service for year 2000 and newer vehicles.

We support University & community water-saving initiatives by reducing washes on most vehicles to windows & interiors only.

Updating above-ground fuel tank to comply with the latest APCD air quality regulations.

Welcome, visitor!
All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid campus parking permit, or be parked at a paid-for meter. Depending on the duration and frequency of your visits, you may decide to pay hourly or daily short-term rates, or else purchase a longer-term permit that is valid for up to a year.

The Information Kiosk is open Monday–Friday from 7:30AM to 5:00PM, and on Saturday–Sunday from 7:30AM to 2:00PM. The Parking Services office is open Monday–Friday from 7:30AM to 5:00PM.
