Move-in

Welcome Gauchos!

Follow these guidelines for a smooth move-in:

  • Review Instructions: Refer to your room assignment and move-in email for specific instructions tailored to your housing location.
  • Arrival Timing: Plan to arrive as close as possible to your selected move-in time slot.

Move-In Voucher: Print your move-in voucher at home for your designated time slot and keep it handy inside your vehicle. This will be displayed on your vehicle’s dashboard while you are actively unloading the vehicle. 

Important Information While Unloading: 

  • Vehicles are restricted to a single entry into the designated unloading zone. Compliance with this regulation is mandatory to preserve scheduled unloading allocations for all residents and maintain an equitable move-in procedure.
  • After unloading you will be asked to park in short-term parking and purchase an ePermit via our Offstreet link.
  • For the east side Channel Island Neighborhood and the west side San Joaquin, Sierra Madre and Santa Catalina locations, shuttles run from short-term parking back to the Residential Complexes beginning Wednesday, September 16th through Sunday, September 20th, daily from 9am to 6pm.
  • Students who have purchased an academic-year permit must park in short-term parking on campus (Mesa Structure 18 or Lot 16) through Sunday, September 20th at 7pm. Starting Monday, September 21st at 7am, you must relocate your vehicle to your assigned lot.

Student Check-In Info:

  • Bring a photo ID (student Access ID preferred).
  • Have your phone ready to scan the check-in QR code.
  • If you arrive after 5 p.m., check in at your hall’s front desk.
  • If you arrive before your scheduled date, you will be turned away and need to find other accommodations.

Check-In Location:

  • Follow signs and staff directions when you arrive.
  • UCSB staff will direct you to your unloading zone.
